The Putnam County Property Assessor's office must appraise
and assess approximately 34,000 parcels of property.
Putnam County Schools consists of 18 schools spread throughout

for the creating and maintaining the court dockets, organizing
the jury duty, and other court related things.
The Clerk and Masters office (Chancery Court) hears cases
such as divorces and adoptions.
County Attorneys are elected officials and are responsible
for the prosecution of all crimes occurring in their county.
The County Clerk's Office is responsible for motor vehicle
titling, probate/juvenile court records, marriage licenses,
and tax collection.

The District Attorney is Putnam County's Chief Prosecutor.
Nancy Boman is Administrator of Elections for Putnam County.
PCEMS is the only ambulance service in Putnam County. We
serve Putnam County, Cookeville, Algood, Baxter and Monterey.
The Putnam County fire department serves the regions outside
of the cities of Cookeville, Algood, Baxter, Monterey.
The Putnam County General Sessions Court is located in the
historic Putnam County Courthouse in the heart of Cookeville,
Tennessee.
The Putnam County Highway Department is in charge of road
and bridge construction and maintenance.
The Putnam County Maintenance Department is responsible
for all maintenance and repair of all county buildings, with
the exception of schools.
The Register of Deeds office handles the recording of deeds.
The Sheriff's Department takes an active approach to eradicating
drugs from our community.
The Putnam County Solid waste department includes a recycling
center, trasfer station, landfill, and eight convenience
sites.
The Trustee's office handles the collection of current property
taxes.
